Louisiana Board of Regents Travel Grants for Emerging Faculty

The Travel Grants for Emerging Faculty (TGEF) program is authorized under the Louisiana EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement award, co-sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the Board of Regents. The objective of the TGEF Program is to make Louisiana's emerging science and engineering faculty researchers more competitive at the national and international levels. This is accomplished by providing travel funds for eligible faculty to:

  • visit federal funding agency program officers to learn how to better structure their research proposal(s); and
  • give plenary or major invited presentations at regional, national or international meetings.

Emerging faculty are defined as those in a science or engineerig tenure-track, but untenured position.

The maximum award amount for faculty traveling to visit a funding agency has been increased from $750 to $1,000.

Faculty should provide a signed UNO Routing Form and a PDF file of their proposal to the Office of Research if they wish to apply for a travel grant. Other details on how to apply, eligibility, and any additional information may be obtained from Rebecca Drake at rdrake@uno.edu.
